Our Town - A Community Mural

Created in 2003 and refurbished in 2017, a true community project

In 2002 a group of five local artists gathered together to create the original art that became the “Our Town” mural.

The painting was expanded to mural size using a paint-by-numbers approach with many volunteers taking part. The original piece hangs in Wells Fargo Bank

The original work was sponsored by:

Ocean Beauty Seafoods

Petro Marine

Scandia House

First Bank

Seaport Gallery & Gifts

Wells Fargo

Hammer & Wikan

Petersburg Chamber of Commerce

In 2017, the now faded mural was removed from the building and taken to the Elizabeth Peratrovich building and repainted.

Volunteers donated materials and time to refurbish the mural panels.
